VIDEO: A campaign to reinstate a coastguard helicopter pilot from Shetland who was suspended after detouring to pick up a consignment of beef has received the support of local politicians.
Although the US Coast Guard (USCG) dismissed charges of negligent homicide, dereliction of duty and destruction of government property against Lt Lance Leone in early March, a final report released by the service on 19 March states that actions and omissions on the part of Leone were contributing factors in the crash of a USCG helicopter in 2010.
British royal pilot Flt Lt Wales, as Prince William is known in the UK Royal Air Force, is to be posted to the Falkland Islands for six weeks from next February on a routine deployment as a search and rescue co-pilot, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Defence.
The US National EMS Pilots Association (NEMSPA) unveiled its ‘Professional Air Medical Pilots Credo’ at the Air Medical Transport Conference. The Association said the credo was created in direct response to the National Transportation Safety Board’s Top-10 ‘Most Wanted List’ released on 23 June 2011.
