First Airmed–ECMO Advantage transport a success

Fixed-wing air ambulance firm AirMed International of Birmingham, Alabama, US, has reported on its first successful mission carried out with the Tennessee-based ECMO Advantage. The two companies have formed a co-operative agreement to provide advanced extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment onboard AirMed’s aircraft, with ECMO Advantage medical professionals assisting in the transport.
Randy Bartilson, president of ECMO Advantage, said: “Our first transport with AirMed was a tremendous success. With many hospitals in need of ECMO transports for their patients, we are confident that this partnership will continue to be a viable and efficient option for them.”
